The Truth About Fillers
Why dissolved fillers often fail to bring the face back — and what role bone and muscle truly play in a youthful contour.

The short answer first: dissolved fillers often do not give the face back its former appearance, because stretched skin, scar tissue, and the ongoing decline of bone and muscle remain. A youthful contour is not carried by the volume under the skin, but by the foundation beneath it. And that foundation can be trained.
In recent years many people, including well-known public figures, have shared their experiences with cosmetic fillers. Some have had their facial fillers dissolved, only to find that the face does not return to its original appearance. Why is that? And what can you do to preserve a youthful facial contour over the long term?
Why Fillers Are Not the Answer
1. Tissue Expansion
When hyaluronic acid is injected, it stretches the skin and the tissue beneath it to create volume. The body adapts by forming new collagen and elastin fibers. Even when the fillers are dissolved, the skin often remains slightly stretched. This leads to lasting changes, and the face no longer looks the way it did before.
How long fillers actually remain in the tissue is shown by a systematic review of 24 studies with over 1,400 patients: after two years, 50 to 86 percent of the injected hyaluronic acid was still detectable, considerably longer than the often-promised six to twelve months would suggest (de Castro Costa et al. 2025).
2. Scarring
Every injection of hyaluronic acid causes micro-injuries that leave scar tissue behind. With each further treatment this scar tissue builds up, which can make the skin uneven and reduce its natural elasticity.
3. The Aging Process
The natural aging process continues regardless of what we do. The breakdown of fat, collagen, and elastin, along with bone loss in the face, advances relentlessly. The face loses volume and structure as a result, which can create the impression that cosmetic procedures are to blame — when in fact they are only part of the problem.
The Role of Bone and Muscle in a Youthful Face
Often underestimated: the natural bone loss in the face is one of the main reasons for wrinkles, volume loss, and sagging skin. Over time the facial bones lose density and shrink, which changes the entire appearance of the face.
Even after a successful FACE lifting it is essential to move the face regularly and to build muscle and bone in a targeted way. Active support through specific FACE Training® not only helps to preserve the result; by building muscle and bone it can even improve it further.
FACE Training®: The Natural Path to a Youthful Face
This is where FACE Training® comes in — a targeted muscle- and bone-building program that naturally gives your face back its volume, structure, and firmness. FACE Training® is far more than gymnastics for the face. It is an approach grounded in anatomy and 30 years of practice:
- Muscle building: Regular exercise strengthens and tightens the facial muscles, making the face look fuller and more defined.
- Bone metabolism: Targeted loading of the muscles can set mechanical stimuli that benefit the bone metabolism. In my experience this counters age-related bone loss and supports the facial contours.
- Natural rejuvenation: FACE Training® improves not only the outer appearance but also supports circulation and the supply of nutrients to the skin. The face looks fresher and more radiant — entirely without invasive procedures.
A New Way of Looking at Beauty and Youth
The modern beauty industry has often led us to believe that injections or surgery are the only path to a youthful look. But true beauty begins with the health and strength of the face. With FACE Training® you have the chance to strengthen your face from within — without injections, without scarring, and without foreign substances.
Conclusion: Lasting Care for a Youthful Face
With today's knowledge and awareness, the natural aging process can be influenced significantly, and with the right measures you can slow it down noticeably. A healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, and regular FACE Training® are the key to giving your face back its volume, structure, and youthfulness.
Even after a successful FACE lifting, it is essential to actively train muscle and bone to support the results and to promote the long-term health of the face. Because your face deserves more than short-term fixes — it deserves care that works from within.
